Decapitated female Body found in a suitcase at Jones Beach sparks Long Island Serial Killer fears

An unidentified female body found stuffed in a suitcase on Jones Beach late on Wednesday night has sparked fears that the infamous Long Island Serial Killer has struck again, according to an anonymous source involved in the investigation.

The source, who declined to be identified as he is not permitted to speak to the media, said the body suffered from extreme mutilation, having her head, hands and feet all severed off. These Injuries are consistent with those present on other victims of the Long Island Serial Killer.

The last of LISK’s confirmed victims was discovered in 2011 at nearby Tobay Beach when a human skull and teeth were found. These remains were then tied by DNA testing to a pair of severed legs found in a garbage bag on Fire Island in 1996.

LISK has managed to evade the authorities for decades, and is believed to have murdered between 10 to 17 victims. However, since 2011 authorities have declined to link the unknown killer to any other disappearances.

The recent discovery of an unidentified victim sparks fears that LISK may have recommenced killing after a long dormant period. “It’s not uncommon in cases involving serial killers for the perpetrator to go quiet for periods of years up to decades before striking again,” said the source. “Our hope is with enhanced forensic techniques, LISK has finally made a crucial error that will allow us to apprehend him.”
