JACKSON, Miss. —
A convicted felon is in trouble again with the law.
Christopher Whittaker, 36, of Jackson, was arrested by Hinds County sheriff’s deputies after they received a tip about drug activity in the Georgetown neighborhood.
Delegates pulled over Whittaker on Tuesday amid a movement stop on Powers Avenue and detailed noticing the scent of weed originating from his auto. Delegates recouped around 2 ounces of powder cocaine and a handgun from the front seat zone of Whittaker’s auto, experts said.Whittaker, who Sheriff Victor Mason said has a broad capture record that incorporates furnished carjacking, was captured and booked at the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond. Whittaker is accused of ownership of cocaine while possessing a gun and as a sentenced criminal possessing a gun.
